Durango Outdoor Exchange gives our community a place to give great gear a second life—and keep more of what we spend right here at home. When you shop, consign, and support local, you’re supporting friends, neighbors, and a stronger local economy.

We’re incredibly grateful to be part of this community. Some of our favorite moments come from meeting new people, hearing stories from the trail, river, mountain, or campsite, and helping someone get ready for whatever adventure comes next.

Our commitment to community goes beyond the walls of our shop. Through local sponsorships, partnerships, and support for organizations doing meaningful work throughout Southwest Colorado, we’re proud to invest in the people and places that make this such a special place to live, work, and play.

While consignment naturally gives us a more sustainable foundation, we’ve always wanted to go beyond that. Over the years, we’ve looked for practical ways to reduce our environmental impact—from installing solar panels at our shop to incorporating rainwater-harvesting landscaping and making sustainability part of the everyday decisions we make as a business.

In 2023, those efforts earned Durango Outdoor Exchange Green Business Certification. We’re proud of that recognition, but even more proud to keep finding ways—big and small—to care for the place that makes so many of our adventures possible.

    We feel incredibly lucky to call Durango home—a place where we get to raise our kids, spend as much time outside as possible, and be part of a community we truly love. Durango Outdoor Exchange grew from that connection to this place and the people in it, and we’re grateful every day to help others get outside and enjoy it too.

    My earliest memory is sneaking out of my parents’ tent in Canyonlands to howl on a rock. Honestly not much has changed. I feel the most at home in nature with my pup, skiing, mountaineering, biking or kayaking.

    Growing up I'm the flat Midwest I've always found myself drawn to the mountains. I have a passion for helping people accomplish their dreams. Come in and tell me about the things you find joy in doing. I would love to share in the excitement of your adventures. Jack of all trades in the outdoor world and a master of none.

    "the Rocky Mountains is the marrow of the world," and somehow I got lucky enough to call them home. I'm a native Pennsylvanian and converted Coloradan. You can probably find me moving down a trail, making photos, skiing, bowhunting, sorting through vinyl records, doing crossword puzzles, or taking my dogs (Hersh and Oli) on “mess arounds.”
